Writing from the index
Every page here is built from the same 8,654 records that power the map, and rebuilds when they do. Every count carries the build stamp it was computed in.

the three questions people arrive withIs psilocybin legal where you live?
Two US states license it, a handful of countries never scheduled it, and most of the map is neither. The status of every place we track.
What you can actually book in 2026
Ketamine is prescribable in all 50 states today. Psilocybin has two licensed states. MDMA is trials-only. The honest availability map.
Licensed, unlicensed, and adjacent
Three different things get sold under one phrase. How to tell a state-licensed center from a ketamine clinic, a retreat or a study.
Licensed centers
state-regulated, with the license number and status where the state publishes oneOregon's service centers
The first licensed psilocybin program in the country, its real prices, and what gets you screened out. No residency requirement.
Colorado, with license numbers
Colorado publishes an NMHC number and a status for each licensed healing center. We print both, so you can check.
Retreats
by country, with the legal footing each record carriesThe retreat map, with the legal basis where a center has one
Lawful where the compound was never scheduled, customary where tradition covers it, and a grey zone anywhere that won't say.
Jamaica
Psilocybin was never added to the Dangerous Drugs Act. Not decriminalized, simply never prohibited — and no regulator either.
The Netherlands
The 2008 ban covered mushrooms and left truffles untouched. Same compound, different line in the Opium Act.
Mexico
Ceremonial psilocybin in Oaxaca and ibogaine clinics in Baja. Two very different risk classes that search results keep merging.
Clinical trials
free, supervised, and lawful in all 50 statesWho's recruiting right now
Sorted by country and state, with contacts where sponsors publish them. The free and fully legal route in 48 states.
What's being studied, and how far along
Depression dominates the recruiting work. Chronic pain is the quiet surprise. A psilocybin approval is further off than coverage implies.
Guides
what actually happens, step by stepHow a session actually works
Three appointments across two to four weeks. The dosing day is the short part, and integration is where the results come from.
How to join a trial
What to read first, the exclusions that catch people late, what to write to a coordinator, and why screening takes weeks.
How this stays honest
Nothing here is written once and left. The numbers in every headline and table come out of the nightly rebuild, so a page claiming 576 recruiting sites is claiming it about today rather than about whenever someone last edited it. Where our data is thin or a source is unreliable, the methodology says so plainly, including the parts that make us look worse.
Last rebuild: 2026-10-03. More on what the index covers and what it deliberately doesn't in about.
