28 Oregon psilocybin service centers, 24 with an OHA license on record
Oregon licensed the first psilocybin service centers in the country under Measure 109, and the program has now been running long enough to have a shape: 11 centers in Portland, a scattering down the Willamette Valley, and prices that have not come down much. You do not need to be an Oregon resident and you do not need a referral or a diagnosis. The OHA directory is opt-in, so this is what we can verify, not a census of the program.
How the Oregon program actually works
You book directly. No prescription, no doctor's letter, no residency requirement. What you do need is a preparation session with a licensed facilitator, an administration session at a licensed center where you stay for the duration, and the money, because ORS 475A explicitly keeps this outside the medical billing system. Nothing here goes through insurance.
Budget $1,000 to $3,000 for a full course at a typical center, more in Portland, less at the handful of centers running sliding-scale or low-cost days. That price is the program's real barrier and the reason participation numbers have stayed lower than the 2020 campaign predicted.
Screening is the part people underestimate. Personal or family history of psychosis, active mania, and lithium are standard exclusions. SSRIs are a conversation rather than a hard no, but tapering takes weeks, so raise it on the first call rather than the week before.

Choosing between them
The centers differ more than the listings suggest. Some are single-facilitator practices running a few sessions a week; others are multi-room operations with staff psychiatrists. Ask three questions on the first call: how many sessions the facilitator has personally sat, what happens if you need to stay past the scheduled end (the answer should not be "we close at six"), and what integration support is included rather than sold separately.
If Oregon's pricing rules it out, Colorado's healing centers are the other licensed option, and a recruiting clinical trial costs nothing at all.
