Colorado healing centers, with the NMHC number and status for each

Colorado's Natural Medicine Health Act puts a license number on each healing center, and the state publishes whether it's approved, pending or surrendered. That makes Colorado the easiest place in the country to verify that a center is what it claims to be. We hold 47 approved, 6 pending and 3 surrendered licenses in the current data, plus 1 directory listing we could not match to the register, concentrated in Denver and Boulder.

Read the license number first

Colorado publishes an NMHC identifier and a status for each licensed healing center. Ours come from the state register, and we print the status beside the number, because "pending", "approved" and "surrendered" are very different things to walk into. A pending center may be operating legally in some other capacity, such as a therapy practice or a ketamine clinic, while its natural-medicine application works through the queue. Ask which, and ask when they expect approval.

Colorado's model differs from Oregon's in a way that matters to your wallet: the Act permits supervised use at licensed healing centers and also allows personal cultivation and sharing without sale. That has kept a grey market alive alongside the regulated one. The licensed centers are the ones with a number you can check.

Showing 16 of 57, sorted by city. Full set on the live map. License status comes from the state register as of our last sweep of it — the register itself moves faster than a monthly sweep, so a pending center here may already be approved by the time you call. The coverage ledger records what was swept and when.

What it costs and who gets turned away

Expect $1,200 to $3,500 for preparation, a supervised session and integration. Insurance covers none of it. Denver and Boulder centers sit at the top of that range; Fort Collins and the Western Slope run cheaper.

Exclusion criteria track Oregon's closely. Psychosis history, active mania and lithium are the firm ones. Cardiac conditions get more attention here than people expect, and any center that doesn't ask about your heart or your medication list before taking a deposit is telling you something about its screening.

Comparing options: Oregon's 24 OHA-licensed service centers run a similar model under different rules, and the treatment-center overview lays out how both compare to ketamine clinics and trials.
