Psilocybin truffle retreats in the Netherlands

We track 42 centers in Netherlands; 42 of them carry a stated legal basis on the record, and the rest carry none. The 2008 ban covered psilocybin mushrooms and left sclerotia, the truffles, untouched. Dutch retreats work with truffles for that reason, and the distinction is legal rather than pharmacological: same active compound, different part of the organism, different line in the Opium Act.

Where they cluster

The locations that recur most in the records: Amsterdam (11), Breda (2), Teuge (2), with 12 of 42 centers publishing no location at all. Amsterdam holds most of the located centers; the rest scatter through Breda, Teuge, Arnhem and rural venues, several of them within driving distance of the German border. Location matters more than the brochures let on, because it determines how far you are from a hospital if something goes wrong, and how much of your fee is paying for beachfront rather than clinical staff.

What to watch for

Truffles are dosed by wet weight and potency varies between batches more than most guests realise, so an experienced facilitator matters as much here as anywhere. The Netherlands also has the longest-running retreat operators in Europe, some with well over a decade of sessions behind them. Ask how long they've been running and how many participants they've sat.
